 CLASS OF ‘89

REUNION Poem

Twas Our Class Reunion

And all thru the house

I checked in each mirror

And begged my poor spouse

To say I looked great

That my chin wasn’t double

And he lied thru his teeth

Just to stay out of trouble

Though I wore glasses

My eyes hadn’t changed

I had the same figure

Just a mite rearranged

     My skin was still silky

       Although looser in places

And I walked a little slower

But still made all the bases

I swallowed his words

Hook, sinker and line

And I entered the room

And poured myself some wine

We all greeted with hugs

But like me, 20 Years

Added some Gray to their hair

And some width to their rears!!!

I’d expected my classmates to stay just the same

But the last 20 Years were to blame

We shared a few memories

And retold some old jokes

We were 18 in spirit

Tho we were starting to look like Old Folks

We talked about all the good times

Now long ago past

When we used to wish for School to get over real fast, for summer to

Come so we could have a blast

We listened to Coach Grasso &

"Tried"

To follow all the rules

When we were still students at

Laurens Central School

As the Weekend drew to a close

They all said “ What a great time has been had”

And some were melancholy and sad.

But, they stopped and thought

(raise your glasses)

“CHEERS”

Here’s to the CLASS of 1989

We will meet again, in another “10 YEARS”.
